Estereotipos culturales sobre España en aprendices estadounidenses de ELE

Abstract

El conocimiento cultural como parte de la competencia sociocultural en una lengua se ha revelado como un factor esencial para la adquisición de la lengua como instrumento que bebe de una cultura y que la refleja y transforma en elementos verbales. Los Estados Unidos de América como potencia hispanohablante en franco crecimiento exponencial es uno de los países cuyos alumnos angloparlantes más interés demuestra hacia nuestra lengua y, por ello, envía a miles de alumnos cada año a ciudades españolas a empaparse de su lengua y cultura. La intención es investigar acerca de las ideas que traen en su mente sobre la cultura española, las que van adquiriendo y las que se llevan finalmente como 'imagen' de España. También si los manuales de que disponen ayudan o perjudican la ardua tarea del profesor de español de España de erradicar los tópicos con los que llegan los alumnos.
