Educational inclusion and critical pedagogy

Abstract

La educación inclusiva ha de ser entendida como un proceso de transformación de las escuelas tradicionales en espacios de aprendizaje para todo el alumnado. Las prácticas educativas excluyentes se desarrollan centrándose en la discapacidad más que en las capacidades del alumnado con discapacidad. En esta misma línea, se proporcionan evidencias científicas para desacreditar mitos relacionados con la educación del alumnado con discapacidad, especialmente mitos que han contribuido a su exclusión de las aulas ordinarias. Finalmente, tomando como base el modelo de las Comunidades de Aprendizaje, se aportan estrategias concretas para la transformación de las aulas ordinarias en ambientes plenamente inclusivos.
