Abstract

Aparte de su reducción en el bachillerato, el descontrol por la desigualdad de alumnos que llegan a COU para darlo sin haberlo visto en su vida, otros si lo han visto. Unido al descrédito de las letras y mayor importancia de las ciencias debido a la sociedad actual en la que vivimos donde lo importante son las ciencias y las nuevas tecnologías. Existen unos objetivos que el griego debe cumplir: conocimiento del humanismo griego, interpretación de los valores más permanentes y de la influencia en los diversos campos de la cultura y literatura occidental; a través de la lectura de autores clásicos, percibir los motivos humanos y situaciones históricas de los textos en su vinculación con el mundo y la cultura de hoy; crear hábitos de reflexión y análisis textual sobre formas literarias concretas para descubrir los valores poéticos y en especial. La expresividad y la precisión del lenguaje que encierran; contribución a la comprensión del pensamiento occidental y la nacimiento del espíritu científico. La enseñanza del griego es una tarea difícil. Es una enseñanza que exige cooperación con el alumno y obliga a hacerle plantearse problemas. El método es necesario e imprescindible. El griego ha de dejar huella en el alumno de un sistema lingüístico, un vocabulario que tiene mucho que enseñar, no la de la pura suma mecánica de elementos.
