La educación de adultos. III

Abstract

La educación de adultos es vista desde la perspectiva de la lectura y los medios audiovisuales. El libro se considera la expresión más genuina de la cultura, y como tal la lectura debe jugar un papel destacado en la educación de adultos. Los medios audiovisuales, como la televisión, constituyen nuevos medios de comunicación de naturaleza y consecuencias profundas, pero no son sustitutos del libro, ni sistemas de acceso a información o conocimiento antagónicos a la lectura tradicional. De este modo se analiza lo que representa la lectura en el mundo actual, así como los medios audiovisuales, para después establecer como se debe fomentar la adquisición de un hábito de lectura firme y duradero. Se hace mención especial a las fichas de lectura, como método para conseguir verdaderos lectores. Como ejemplos de actividades prácticas destinadas a fomentar la lectura, tenemos las experiencias italianas de Il Leonardo, una publicación de educación popular, publicada por el Ente Nazionale dí Bíblíoteche Popolarí e Scholastíche, y los centros móviles de la lectura o bibliobuses, en italiano Scuola del Leggere, que se inician en 1952 en Módena.
