La cultura del esfuerzo

Abstract

Comienza por caracterizar la cultura del esfuerzo y enfoca el asunto como contenido actitudinal específico de la educación secundaria, precisamente como prerrequisito de aquélla. Procura delimitar el significado de cultura y esfuerzo, poniendo a éste en contacto con la laboriosidad clásica. Enmarca la promoción del esfuerzo estudiantil con respecto a otros esfuerzos igualmente necesarios y analiza las relaciones de ese paradigma actitudinal, presentado como un valor, con otros -igualdad y solidaridad-, revisando la eventual vinculación del esfuerzo educativo y la persecución de la excelencia con supuestos peligros emergentes, tales como competitividad en las aulas, elitismo, creación de ventajas injustas y segregación. Finalmente intenta profundizar el el diagnóstico de la situación, revisando los nexos entre desvalorización del esfuerzo, fracaso escolar y promoción automática, para concluir situando el problema en su marco familiar y social.
