El software libre en los contextos educativos

Abstract

La aplicación del software libre en los distintos niveles del sistema educativo está aumentando su expansión en los primeros años del siglo XXI por la generalización de sus posibilidades que van desde la ofimática hasta los materiales aptos para contextos educativos. Para contextualizar la importancia de estas herramientas se realiza una introducción con las definiciones de software libre y de los tipos de licencias que estas programas informáticos permiten. A continuación se realiza un análisis de la aplicación del software libre en los distintos niveles educativos: Educación Infantil, Educación Primaria, Educación Secundaria y Bachillerato, y se proponen ejemplos de software aplicable a las distintas materias que componen dichos niveles. Finalmente se efectúa un estudio de la aplicación práctica de estas herramientas en los sistemas educativos de Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Cuba, Ecuador, España, Paraguay, Perú, Uruguay y Venezuela.
