Abstract

Se repasa la historia de la piratería desde el mundo antiguo hasta el final del siglo XIX. Son descritos los instrumentos de navegación, los mapas y las armas utilizados para conseguir el éxito en los botines. También se mencionan aspectos de la vida cotidiana en los barcos; y como la literatura, el cine y el teatro se han servido de los corsarios y del mundo que les rodea, para crear narraciones y aventuras en las que ellos son los protagonistas.
