Abstract

Los vikingos procedentes del norte de Europa, irrumpieron violentamente en el resto del continente entre los siglos VIII-XI y, se extendieron por el este hasta Constantinopla y Bagdad y, llegaron, incluso, a América. Pueblo de guerreros y exploradores también fueron comerciantes, navegantes, artesanos y grandes constructores navales. En los aspectos político y cultural destacaron por ser una sociedad abierta y democrática para la época, y por tener una gran tradición como narradores de cuentos.
