Funcionamiento diferencial de los items en una situación de contacto de lenguas

Abstract

Se aborda el problema del funcionamiento diferencial de los ítems (Differential Item Functioning, DIF) en una situación de contacto de lenguas, como la que se da en la Comunidad Valenciana. Actualmente, la medición y evaluación de las aptitudes de escolares valencianos se realiza con tests psicológicos en castellano y baremados con muestras castellanohablantes. El presente trabajo estudia si existe DIF en dos pruebas de aptitud elaboradas en castellano, una verbal y otra no verbal, y de uso habitual en el ámbito educativo valenciano. La muestra empleada está compuesta por 775 sujetos. Los resultados indican que la presencia de ítems con DIF es escasa (9 ítems, de los cuales 7 favorecen al grupo de referencia) al comparar el rendimiento de un grupo de escolares cuya lengua familiar y escolar es el castellano (grupo de referencia) con el rendimiento de: a) escolares bilingües cuya lengua familiar es el valenciano, y cuya lengua escolar es el castellano, y b) escolares bilingües cuya lengua familiar y escolar es el valenciano.
