Abstract

El documento pretende acercar criterios que apoyan la reflexión de los profesionales de la educación y actualizar el desarrollo competencial para el asesoramiento respecto a la toma de decisiones sobre la elección del modelo lingüístico más apropiado. Se ofrece una síntesis de las investigaciones y trabajos que han desembocado en la concepción actual del tratamiento lingüístico que debe darse, desde la intervención docente, al alumnado de sociedades bilingües, así como diversas consideraciones sobre las circunstancias en que es posible y las formas en que debe ofrecerse a quienes presentan algún tipo de deficiencia o discapacidad, tales como: sordera, retraso mental, trastornos del lenguaje o problemas de adaptación. Se describe un marco general de intervención en un modelo de educación bilingüe: aportaciones de los últimos conocimientos sobre cómo se adquiere y cómo se aprende una lengua, análisis de estrategias educativas, explicitación de los principios de aprendizaje de una L2 en un ámbito escolar, relaciones entre competencia lingüística y logros académicos. Se recogen orientaciones y estrategias genéricas que faciliten el asesoramiento en situaciones que suelen generar nee, así como una serie de criterios a tener en cuenta para realizar una adaptación curricular en el área de lengua en una situación de escolarización bilingüe.
