Incidencia y determinantes del desajuste educativo entre los universitarios

Abstract

Las inversiones en la mejora de los niveles educativos de los ciudadanos resultan beneficiosas para la sociedad en la que éstas se realizan. Sin embargo, para que se consigan una parte importante de estos beneficios es necesario que se produzca un ajuste entre el capital humano formado y las necesidades del mundo laboral. Si esto no es así, se produciría una situación nada deseable de desajuste educativo. Dicho desajuste podría quedar de manifiesto tanto en situaciones de sobreeducación como de infraeducación. Ante este hecho se tiene como objetivo medir el posible desajuste educativo existente en los egresados universitarios cuando acceden a su primer empleo, así como establecer los posibles determinantes de esta situación. En el contexto analizado, España, los resultados obtenidos muestran la existencia de una situación de sobreeducación, ya que los egresados españoles desempeñan, en un primer momento, trabajos de categoría inferior a la que les correspondería por su formación.
