Absentismo y resultados de los alumnos

Abstract

Se aborda el estudio de la relación entre el grado de absentismo de los estudiantes del área de Análisis Económico y su rendimiento obtenido en las pruebas de evaluación. Para ello, se construye una primera base de datos 'Resultados de los Alumnos' que recopila información estadística de más de 1600 alumnos matriculados en asignaturas troncales de teoría económica, lo que permite hacer valoraciones cuantitativas del absentismo real en las aulas. Además, se obtiene una vinculación estadística significativa entre absentismo y fracaso, es decir no aprobar, hecho que justifica la preocupación de la comunidad docente ante los elevados niveles de absentismo estudiantil y, más importante, debería movilizar todo un conjunto de acciones y políticas públicas destinadas a incentivar la asistencia de los alumnos a clase.
