Abstract

Conocer las implicaciones del estilo cognitivo dependencia-independencia de campo y de la actitud discente en el rendimiento escolar. Muestra aleatoria de 559 alumnos de octavo curso de EGB de centros estatales y no estatales de Madrid capital. Estudia los estilos cognitivos para explicar el funcionamiento de ciertos mecanismos subjetivos que afectan a los fenómenos de cognición, y realiza un estudio empírico sobre la influencia del estilo cognitivo y de la actitud discente en el rendimiento escolar. Test EFT de Witkin, test de actitud escolar y test de actitud hacia las materias de estudio. El contraste estadístico se realiza mediante análisis de correlaciones, de varianza y factorial. El rendimiento de los alumnos está fuertemente condicionado por el estilo cognitivo. Es necesario estudiar en profundidad las posibilidades que presenta cada alumno o grupo de alumnos derivadas de su estilo cognitivo a fin de proporcionar el más eficaz desarrollo de las funciones educativas asignadas al ámbito escolar.
