El clima social escolar y su influencia en el rendimiento académico

Abstract

Se centra en cuestiones relativas al clima social del aula como claro determinante del bienestar del alumno, que afecta tanto a su aprendizaje y rendimiento como a su desarrollo personal y social. La muestra utilizada es de 15 profesores y 532 alumnos de séptimo curso de EGB, procedentes de distintos centros estatales y concertados de Madrid y provincia. La hipótesis que se plantea es que existen diferencias significativas en la percepción que tienen del clima escolar los sujetos con alto y bajo rendimiento académico. A partir de una comprobación inicial hecha con una muestra reducida de escolares en la que se obtiene como resultado que el cociente intelectual de los sujetos no corresponde con las calificaciones otorgadas por su rendimiento real, correlaciona resultados obtenidos de cociente intelectual y la percepción que tienen los sujetos del ambiente de aprendizaje. Existen diferencias significativas en la percepción del clima social escolar en sujetos con alto y bajo rendimiento en algunas variables consideradas. Es conveniente hacer un reflexión crítica sobre el clima en el que se desarrolla el proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje, en cómo se percibe por el alumno y la relación ambiente vivenciado - rendimiento conseguido, y destacar aquellos aspectos psicopedagógicos que están en relación con dichas variables a fin de que contribuyan a mejorar el clima social del aula.
