Abstract

A pesar de la gravedad del problema, los estudios sobre el impacto del hambre en el campo educativo han sido escasos, aunque los niveles de crecimiento de las tasas de escolarización y los significativos aumentos de la esperanza de vida educativa en América Latina y el Caribe han implicado el acceso al sistema educativo de un sector de la población que sufre las consecuencias de la subalimentación y de la desnutrición. El autor critica la indeferencia de la sociedad y de las universidades.
