Abstract

En el siglo XX, España ha multiplicado por diez el número de docentes. Tras analizar este importante salto cuantitativo, se abordan algunas continuidades y cambios cualitativos que han caracterizado la evolución histórica del profesorado antes de la guerra civil, en el período franquista y durante la restauración democrática. La progresiva feminización de la profesión y, sobre todo, los avances y retrocesos del movimiento asociacionista constituyen el núcleo de dicho análisis..
