Evaluación del potencial de aprendizaje de la lectura en síndrome de down

Abstract

La evaluación del Potencial de Aprendizaje parece estar especialmente destinada para personas con necesidades educativas especiales, y por ello en personas con Síndrome de Down. En este trabajo hemos aplicado por primera vez un test de Potencial de Aprendizaje específico de lectura, llamado 'El juego del dibujo y la palabra' (JDP), a una muestra de personas con Síndrome de Down. La razón de que se haya elegido esta prueba, ha sido porque el aprendizaje de la lectura de personas con Síndrome de Down constituye un objetivo educativo fundamental. En este sentido, el JDP demostró en población preescolar su capacidad predictiva del aprovechamiento futuro que los niños hacían de los programas de lectura, y esto es lo que hemos querido comprobar con personas con síndrome de Down. Efectivamente comprobamos que el JDP sirve para predecir el rendimiento en lectura en personas con síndrome de Down que asistes a programas de entrenamiento en esta habilidad.
