Menores maltratados y menores maltratadores

Abstract

Esta comunicación fue presentada en el VI Congreso Estatal sobre Infancia Maltratada en abril de 2002. Aunque pudiera parecer fuera de lugar presentar una comunicación sobre los menores maltratadores en un Congreso sobre el Maltrato Infantil, este tipo de menores existe. Son menores que maltratan a otros menores, a adultos y a sus propios padres y su número va en aumento por lo que hay que reconocer el problema y intentar buscar soluciones. Se trata como ejemplo el tema de las adopciones, planteando que un alto porcentaje de ellas resultan fallidas y tienen consecuencias nefastas para el conjunto familiar o alguno de sus miembros al ser la respuesta del menor o de los adoptantes el maltrato físico o psicológico. También en familias normalizadas se da el fracaso debido a una educación sin disciplina donde se adula, se hiperprotege y no se educa al menor en el esfuerzo, dando lugar a sujetos incapaces para una convivencia social respetuosa. Las consecuencias de estas conductas llevan a las familias a pedir ayuda a las entidades públicas. El artículo continúa, en este sentido, hablando del Hogar o Centro de Acogida. Finalmente se plantean soluciones y se habla del papel de los padres en estas situaciones..
