Abstract

El artículo expone el proceso y resultados de una investigación desarrollada desde abril de 1999 a junio de 2000 en la que se evalúa el ambiente instructivo de aula y el ambiente familiar en una muestra de alumnos-as escolarizados en diferentes centros de las comunidades autónomas de Asturias y Cantabria. En un primer momento se tomó a aquellos estudiantes identificados por las respectivas direcciones provinciales de Educación como alumnado con Altas Capacidades (69 alumnos-as). Para el diagnóstico de Dificultades de Aprendizaje, se solicitó al profesorado información sobre los casos valorados positivamente (apreciación subjetiva) de toda la población inicial. Más tarde, se contrastó la valoración positiva de los casos (22 alumnos-as) mediante un análisis objetivo en el que se plantearon tres criterios de diagnóstico: Globalidad, Dispersión y Coherencia. Dichos criterios analizan los desfases entre la capacidad intelectual y los conocimientos; la variabilidad entre los puntajes obtenidos en los tests aptitudinales utilizados; y la existencia de áreas de débil desarrollo, respectivamente. De este modo, finalmente se obtuvo una muestra de 19 alumnos-as con Alta Capacidad y Dificultades de Aprendizaje.
