¿Pueden los videojuegos ser educativos?

Abstract

La proliferación entre niños y adolescentes de los videojuegos como el medio lúdico alternativo a los métodos tradicionales plantea una serie de cuestiones a las que da respuesta este artículo. Se exponen los beneficios y perjuicios de estos juegos, los factores que incitan a su uso, los tipos de videojuegos que existen en el mercado, cuál es el papel educativo que pueden desarrollar cada uno de ellos y cuáles son los riesgos de adicción y aprensión de conductas violentas. Se concluye que los videojuegos pueden ser útiles como herramientas educativas si la temática, los objetivos y la dinámica de los mismos contribuyen a formar un pensamiento crítico, y enseñan a pensar y tomar decisiones.
