Coaching educativo y desarrollo de la carrera en Educación Secundaria

Abstract

Esta comunicación tiene como objetivo conocer cómo se desarrolla la orientación para el desarrollo de la carrera en un Instituto de Educación Secundaria del Principado de Asturias. Para ello se ha realizado un estudio de carácter descriptivo y exploratorio. La muestra está compuesta por estudiantes de 4º de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria y por sus tutoras, a los que se les ha aplicado un cuestionario “ad hoc” para recoger información sobre cómo se trabajan y qué importancia atribuyen los informantes al desarrollo de la carrera. De las necesidades detectadas surge una propuesta de intervención que se enmarca en esta área de la orientación educativa, denominada “Oriénta-te”. Esta propuesta se lleva a cabo con alumnado de 4º curso de ESO y se basa en la metodología de coaching educativo, que permite que el estudiante se fije una serie de objetivos y desarrolle acciones encaminadas a su consecución para, finalmente, lograr una toma de decisiones ajustada a sus intereses y características personales, individualizando el proceso de orientación. La propuesta se centra en tres fases fundamentales, que constituyen los principales ejes de intervención en orientación para el desarrollo de la carrera: el autoconocimiento, la información académica y la toma de decisiones. En el desarrollo de las acciones orientadoras se empleará el blog como herramienta esencial para que el alumnado personalice el proceso de orientación analizando todas las actividades realizadas y plasmando las decisiones tomadas.
