La tenacidad : predictora de la autorregulación académica en estudiantes universitarios

Abstract

Se plantean cuatro objetivos : describir los niveles de Grit y de autorregulación académica que poseen estudiantes de tres carreras universitarias; indagar si existen diferencias en ambas capacidades según el sexo de los estudiantes; analizar cómo correlacionan el Grit y la autorregulación académica e; identificar si el Grit predice la autorregulación en los alumnos. Para ello, se empleó una metodología cuantitativa, descriptiva, correlacional y predictiva en una muestra no probabilística y por conveniencia de 174 estudiantes, que cursaban Abogacía, la Licenciatura en Ciencias Políticas y la Licenciatura en Relaciones Internacionales, en una universidad privada de Argentina, y cuyo promedio de edad era de 19,13 años. Se encontraron diferencias tanto en la tenacidad como en la autorregulación académica en función de la carrera; en algunas variables de la autorregulación que favorecen a las mujeres, no así en la tenacidad según el sexo. Se hallaron correlaciones significativas y positivas entre la tenacidad y la autorregulación. Finalmente, los resultados indicaron que la perseverancia de esfuerzo y la tenacidad global predicen variables motivacionales y cognitivas.
