Demora de la gratificación y conducta antisocial en los adolescentes

Abstract

Se presenta un trabajo que tiene como objetivo analizar la asociación de la conducta antisocial de los adolescentes con la disposición a demorar gratificaciones, valando el papel de la institucionalización y del tipo de medida empleado en dicha asociación. Aunque se ha apuntado que la incapacidad para demorar gratificaciones es una de las características que define la conducta antisocial, no existen muchos estudios que comprueben empíricamente este supuesto. En este caso se presenta la conducta antisocial autoinformada de 249 adolescentes varones pertenecientes a dos muestras diferentes (156 sujetos escolarizados y 93 institucionalizados en centros de menores y prisiones) ha sido puesta en relación con dos índices de demora de la gratificación. Los resultados muestran diferencias significativas en esta variable entre sujetos con mayor y menor grado de implicación delictiva. No obstante, la relación entre la delincuencia juvenil y la conducta de elección parece estar influida por el tipo de medida empleada y por variables situacionales presentes en el momento de la evaluación.
