Abstract

Hace una propuesta de educación cívico-moral por medio del tratamiento de los valores controvertidos a través de los cuentos populares. En la primera parte, de carácter básicamente introductoria, se pretende justificar dos supuestos necesariamente previos a la propuesta concreta. El primer supuesto es que uno de los objetivos de la educación cívico-moral ha de consistir en capacitar a los sujetos para orientarse autónomamente ante los conflictos de valores que inevitablemente presenta toda sociedad democrática y pluralista. Dado que la propuesta concreta que hacen es la de trabajar los valores controvertidos a partir de los cuentos populares, habrá que justificar también que éstos pueden ser en sí mismos un instrumento educativo. Este es el segundo supuesto que desarrollan en la primera parte. La segunda parte consistirá en la presentación de una propuesta, concreta y ejemplificada, de cómo se pueden utilizar los cuentos populares en tanto que son fuente para el trabajo educativo con valores controvertidos. La propuesta plantea, a su vez, dos posibilidades: la de extraer conflictos de valor ya existentes en determinados cuentos populares; y la de, por decirlo así, 'adulterar' ciertos aspectos de algunos cuentos para generar expresamente conflictos de valor.
