Objective: Given that between 5 and 10% of school-age children suffer from asthma, the aim of the study was to review the literature about school nursing attention in order to improve the health of the child population with asthma in schools. Method: A literature research in ten databases has been made, obtaining results in seven of them: Pubmed, Cuiden, Cinahl, Science Direct, Scielo, EBSCO Medline and Dialnet. The research was limited by the publication year, which was less than eleven years, and by language, Spanish and English. Results: A total of 26 articles were found and analyzed according to school nurse’s welfare and educational work with asthmatic childrem and their activities with parents and teachers. Through these interventions, asthmatic pupils achieve a good disease control which helps them in reducing asthma negative effects. Conclusions: The school nurse is a health worker who plays a key role in controling asthma, because she acts with asthmatics children and also with their parents and teachers, giving a holistic care inside the school. In spite of this, her interventions require more monitoring as well as more uniformity to show a complete effectiveness.
