Características del buen profesor universitario según estudiantes y profesores

Abstract

Se analizan las características del "buen profesor universitario", comparando las opiniones de profesores y alumnos sobre este tópico. Los alumnos consideran que las tres características más importantes para ser un buen profesor son: explicar con claridad, tener un amplio conocimiento de la materia y ser una persona objetiva e imparcial en las calificaciones. Se estudian las diferencias en la concepción del buen docente, en función del sexo, edad, rendimiento académico y los diferentes centros. Los resultados apuntan a que estas variables no marcan diferencias importantes a la hora de considerar los rasgos del buen profesor aunque hay algunos matices interesantes. Por su parte, los profesores valoran especialmente el conocimiento de la materia que se enseña, seguido de la claridad en las explicaciones y la preparación de las clases. Al comparar las opiniones de los profesores y los alumnos, se observan diferencias significativas entre ambos colectivos.
