Abstract

¿Por qué los alumnos no tienen buena letra? Esta es la pregunta que en todos los niveles de la enseñanza podría hacerse. Es cierto que el acto de tomar apuntes degrada cualquier letra personal pero no es menos cierto que generaciones que han recibido bases caligráficas mantienen su legibilidad. Aparentemente, el problema no empieza ni termina en la etapa universitaria, es un hecho que los alumnos de 6º de E.G.B. se vean en ocasiones forzados a tomar apuntes cuando aún su letra no está formada y no han alcanzado propiamente el estadio de personalización tan necesario para fijar los rasgos escribanos. A ello se suma el uso de las máquinas de todo tipo. Los alumnos, que nacieron manipulando botones y teclas, lo saben bien, pero esto origina que la mayoría no sepa escribir correctamente trazando aquellos signos gráficos. Ante una civilización en que la máquina sustituye a la mano es necesario plantearse por qué escribir, cómo enseñar a escribir y si es posible la calidad gráfica sin caligrafía. Así pues, se presentan las distintas dimensiones en que se podría justificar la necesidad de una instrucción caligráfica para una necesaria y urgente aceptabilidad escribana.
