Abstract

Este Trabajo de fin de grado tiene como finalidad la creación de un Proyecto de Educación para la Salud dirigido a los padres de niños oncológicos de la Comunidad de Madrid, dentro de las consultas del Hospital Materno-Infantil del Hospital Universitario La Paz con el fin de promover la mejora de calidad de vida. Se realizó una búsqueda bibliográfica exhaustiva para valorar la necesidad de una intervención educativa con respecto al cáncer en este grupo de población, por lo que se propone este Proyecto. Tras el análisis de la información, se observó la necesidad de crear un programa de apoyo psicosocial, que tuviese una serie de objetivos centrados en tratar todas las áreas del afrontamiento referentes al cáncer –la cognitiva, la emocional y la de las habilidades-. Dicho programa se crea con el objetivo de mejorar el afrontamiento y el bienestar de los padres y madres de niños oncológicos. Con el fin de cumplir el objetivo, se seleccionó como población diana a los niños que se encuentren en fase de diagnóstico y con una evolución de la enfermedad menor a 6 meses. Para ello, en dicho programa se incluyeron 5 sesiones educativas dirigidas a la ampliación de conocimientos sobre la enfermedad, así como a la mejora de la capacidad para afrontar sus emociones, saber manejar el estrés y la realización de cuidados del niño en el hogar. Además, el proyecto será evaluado de manera continua para poder comprobar los resultados obtenidos con el programa y la opinión de sus participantes

This end of degree project aims at the creation of a project of education for health aimed at parents of oncological children in the Comunidad de Madrid within the maternal and child health of the Hospital La Paz consultations in order to promote the improvement of quality of live. A comprehensive literature search was performed to assess the needs of the population of an educational intervention with respect to cancer, so it is proposed this project. After the analysis of the information, it was observed the need of creating a program of psycho-social support that had a number of objectives focused to address all areas of coping and relating to cancer –the cognitive, emotional and the skills-. This program is created with the objective of improving the coping and well-being of the parents of children with cancer. In order to meet the objective, children that are in diagnostic phase and that with disease evolution of less than 6 moths were chosen as target population. To this end, the program included 5 educational activities aimed at expanding knowledge, as well as improving the ability to deal with their emotions, learn to manage stress and for the realization of child care at home. In addition, the project will be evaluated continuously to check to verify the results obtained with the program and the opinion of this participants.
