La educación para la carrera (career education) es un movimiento que surgió en los Estados Unidos a principios de los años setenta, el cual se propuso una reforma educativa encaminada a preparar al alumnado para comprometerse en un trabajo que considere como parte importante de su vida. Se trata de encarrilar el sistema educativo hacia la profesión, con la cual cosa gana el individuo y la sociedad.
