El progresismo pedagógico y el libro de texto

Abstract

El objetivo del artículo es ratificar la centralidad que sigue teniendo el libro de texto en las aulas, a pesar del escepticismo con el que ha sido tratado por la corriente subjetista de la enseñanza. La continuidad se debe principalmente al cambio de concepción que se ha producido entre los materiales didácticos. Lo que importa en un libro de texto, no es ya el contenido explicito, sino la capacidad funcional que posea. Es decir, que propicie en el alumno un tipo de aprendizaje por descubrimiento en el que él mismo se convierta en autodidacta. En el cambio de concepción, las cuestiones técnico-metodológicas han sustituido a los contenidos epistemológicos.
