Se analiza la relación entre cambios educativos, reformas educativas y renovación pedagógica. Relata el origen histórico del instruccionismo intelectualista y del holismo educativo y su entrada simultánea en los sistemas educativos unificados. Muestra que la coexistencia de ambos se configuró como un sincretismo caótico de paradigmas educativos y didácticos antagónicos que constituyen una fuente permanente de contradicción. Por último, describe la renovación pedagógica como el esfuerzo constante por superar el instruccionismo intelectualista y promover el holismo educativo o “educación integral”.
