Abstract

Este artículo trata de situar el papel de la enseñanza obligatoria en relación con los cambios que el nuevo modelo de sociedad de la información y el conocimiento está produciendo. Se centra en dos aspectos principales: el papel del enseñante como experto que guía al aprendiz en la elección, el procesamiento y la interpretación de la información para que se vuelva conocimiento, y el desarrollo de un pensamiento crítico como finalidad última de la educación en la formación de ciudadanos y ciudadanas que han de establecer las bases de una sociedad democrática del conociemiento.
