Abstract

La presencia ancestral y universal de las matemáticas en las escuelas se justifica tradicionalmente por su carácter instrumental en la vida de la gente y por su contribución al desarrollo del pensamiento personal. El hecho de que las matemáticas sean incidentes en nuestra vida y en la actual sociedad no admite ninguna discusión. Se reflexiona sobre la otra faceta: ¿realmente las matemáticas ayudan a pensar mejor?
