Abstract

O terrorismo faz hoje parte das nossas vidas. O 11 de Setembro serviu como catalisador para inúmeros estudos científicos sobre terrorismo, radicalização e contraterrorismo. A definição de terrorismo é amplamente discutida e sai do âmbito deste artigo, mas podemos definir contraterrorismo como os meios, incluindo práticas, políticas, técnicas e estratégias, utilizados com o objetivo de confrontar e evitar o terrorismo, bem como prevenir o extremismo violento e combater o processo de radicalização (Hearn & Laiq, 2010)
