Banhos salinos quentes de Sines

Abstract

A presente dissertação apresenta-se como resultado de uma in vestigação durante o ultimo ano, sobre a cidade de Sines. Este processo teve inicio com uma primeira abordagem à cidade, analisando o território e o contexto actual deste lugar. Desta primeira abordagem, surge por um lado, o interesse e ne cessidade de reactivar um equipamento público que desapareceu, os Banhos Salinos Quentes, e por outro a reabilitação de um lugar que hoje perdeu a sua função, os antigos armazéns de pesca da Ribeira de Sines - Calheta. O equipamento dos Banhos Salinos Quentes, existiu primei ramente na praia Vasco da Gama, mas após a grande tempestade de 1941, foi destruído, o que ditou o seu desaparecimento. Depois de uma investigação sobre os Banhos Salinos Quentes, percebe-se que o desa parecimento deste equipamento coincide com o declínio do uso deste tipo de equipamentos que eram bastante vulgares e concorridos no inicio do séc. XX. Posto isto, é intenção deste trabalho, aliado à memória deste lu gar da cidade, trazer de novo a Sines, os Banhos Salinos Quentes. Para a sua implantação, surge a antiga Ribeira de Sines, mais precisamente os antigos armazéns de pesca que ali existem, e que hoje perderam também a sua função.
