Abstract

Uma intersecção possível entre os campos das Ciências da Comunicação e das Relações Internacionais desafia ao estudo dos processos de formação das agendas internacionais na opinião pública (Boniface, 1997: 234-239).Os meios de comunicação ao produzirem relatos,de natureza informativa ou ficcional, propõem pautas interpretativas que moldam nas audiências uma dada ‘imagem’ dos países envolvidos. Estes processos conformam representações sociais (Moscovici, 1979), na medida em que “os meios de comunicação de massas têm uma capacidade conformadora para estabelecerem crenças, sentimentos comuns e percepções fortes nos públicos (com particular proeminência no tocante a actores, grupos/comunidades ou identidades)”
