Multinacionais e territórios: sector da electrónica

Abstract

Na perspectiva da "geoeconomia", parece desenhar-se uma distinção entre duas formas de ligação dos processos sociais ao território: por um lado, uma visão clássica do espaço delimitado por fronteiras políticas e, por outro, uma nova espacialidade, quase ignorando as distâncias, resultante de uma organização industrial e tecnológica do espaço. O primeiro é fechado e circunscrito, o segundo aberto e movediço. O estudo das relações externas de uma sociedade não pode ignorar as manifestações desta dualidade. Após termos visto uma primeira aproximação ao estudo da relação das multinacionais com os territórios no caso português, pesquisando sucintamente três firmas do sector automóvel (ver ponto anterior), vejamos agora alguns elementos acerca de três empresas do sector das telecomunicações, da electricidade e da electrónica: a Alcatel, a Siemens e a Blaupunkt. Uma comparação entre a estrutura de ligações destas empresas mostra que existem, aparentemente, dois modelos diferentes de internacionalização: no caso da Alcatel, a filial portuguesa do Grupo francês está vinculada a uma grande diversidade de centros de decisão espalhados por diferentes países europeus e a sua gestão aparece repartida por vários pólos; já a Siemens e a Blaupunkt, ambas alemãs, evidenciam uma dependência forte e directa, quase exclusiva, da sede na Alemanha.
