Consequências da intervenção dos EUA no Iraque

Abstract

A intervenção militar no Iraque foi mais fácil do que a opinião pública previra: os equipamentos iraquianos eram escassos e antiquados e a moral dos militares não era elevada. A passagem de um esquema de combate clássico para um cenário de guerrilha urbana foi célere, alimentada por parte das forças militares iraquianas, militantes islâmicos e activistas de grupos extremistas vindos do exterior, a partir do Verão de 2003. A intervenção acabou por resultar na implosão das hostilidades inter-étnicas, que poderão resultar na desagregação política do país.
