Economia informal e processos de organização

Abstract

Durante os anos 70 e 80 do século XX, a ideia dominante era a de que as actividades informais eram um fenómeno transitório e que o progresso técnico acabaria por permitir ao sector formal absorver os trabalhadores informais. No entanto, a crescente informalização e flexibilização do trabalho e dos trabalhadores, à medida que o processo de globalização se tem acelerado, sugere outras perspectivas: ao contrário do que inicialmente se admitia, a dimensão da economia informal tem crescido, quer nos diferentes sectores de actividade quer em países de níveis de desenvolvimento diferenciados, e o fenómeno não se apresenta nem residual nem temporário.
