Abstract

ÖZET: Bu çalışmanın amacı Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti’nde (KKTC) haberle içiçe olan gazetecilerin, çatışma haberlerini nasıl haber yaptığını ve ne kadar barış gazeteciliği normlarına uyduğunu öğrenmektir. Bu çalışma betimseldir. Bu çalışma bugünkü gazetecilik durumunu analiz etmeye çalışmaktadır ve aynı zamanda bu mesleği geliştirmek için öneriler ve fikirler sunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada gazetecilere anket uygulanmıştır. Ankette 37 tane soru vardır. Bunlardan 30 tanesi barış gazeteciliği hakkındaki test sorusu ve 7 tanesi de demografi sorusudur: Yaş, cinsiyet, kurum, görev, tecrübe, maaş ve eğitim düzeyi. Bu çalışma sonucunda KKTC medyasında haber yazan gazetecilerin yüzde 76,6’sı barış gazeteciliği odaklı sorulara olumlu yanıt vermiştir. Anket sonuçları gösteriyor ki KKTC haber medyası gazetecilerinin haber değeri barış gazeteciliği yanlısıdır. Anket sonucunda ortaya çıkan diğer sonuçlar ise: Yaşlı gazeteciler genç gazetecilere göre daha fazla barış gazeteciliği yanlısıdır. Bayan gazeteciler erkeklere göre daha fazla barış gazeteciliği yanlısıdır. Genel müdürler diğer gazetecilere göre daha fazla barış gazeteciliği yanlısıdır. Tecrübeli gazeteciler tecrübesilere göre daha fazla barış gazeteciliği yanlısıdır. Yüksek eğitimli gazeteciler düşük eğitimlilere göre daha fazla barış gazeteciliği yanlısıdır.

ABSTRACT: This study is descriptive. This study tries to analyze the situation of journalism nowadays and it also tries to develop and suggest some ideas about this profession. A questionnaire was applied in this study. In the questionnaire, there are 37 statements, 30 of them were test statements about peace journalism, and 7 were demographic statements that are: age, gender, organization, duty, experience, salary and education. Conclusion of this study is TRNC news writing journalists were 76.6 percent agree with the peace journalism oriented statements in theoretically. Questionnaire results show that TRNC news writing journalists news values are peace oriented. According to questionnaire the other results are: The old journalists are more peace journalism oriented than the young journalists. The female journalists are more peace journalism oriented than the male journalists. General directors are more peace journalism oriented than the other journalists. Experienced journalists are more peace journalism oriented than the inexperienced journalists. High-educated journalists are more peace journalism oriented than the low educated journalists.
