Knihovna jezuitské koleje v Telči

Abstract

The catalog of the exhibition gathers existing knowledge of the functioning and content of the library of the Telč Order House. The first part of the book consists of an introductory study: The first acquaints the reader with the regulations that the Jesuits followed in their administration of libraries, the second describes the history of the Telč library, the third follows the role of librarians in its administration. The other two texts describe the structure of the book collection. The sixth chapter tries to answer the question of where the library was located in the Jesuit College and what its equipment looked like. The last text briefly outlines the fate of the library after the abolition of the order and shows the possibilities of reconstruction of its collection. Catalog entries are devoted mainly to the exhibited books, which today can be found in the library of the canonry of Nová Říše.
