Some selected options of simple decontamination technologies that have been applied in a real environment of contaminated soil and ground waters (soil washing, bioremediation of soils and waters, adsorption of pollutants from water, advanced oxidation a reduction processes in water) are shown here. Decontaminations actions were carried out at the premises of a number of sites contaminated by petroleum products, PAHs, PCBs, volatile chlorinated hydrocarbons, and so called endocrine disruptors. Submitted project is focused on the decontamination of the less-extensive territories that were created around the industrial plants, and especially in so-called brownfields. The advantages and shortcomings of these technological decontamination procedures are emphasized.
