Abstract

The article speaks about the 19th century emigrants from Pomerania (currently Northern Poland) who settled down in Brazil and preserved their original language (a Low German dialect) until now. The article tries to describe the emancipation attempts of this language community and proposes the localization of the core territory in Pomerania, from where the current language originated.
