The study discusses the state of actual preservation of books from the library Becky Leopoldsdorf in the historical collections of Swedish libraries. The 77 publications found were scrutinized primarily from the standpoint of binding (a typology of Beck bindings was developed) and readers' notes. Quite a few of these books provide an interesting testimony about the contacts the Beck family had with Viennese intellectual circles, and about an active attitude of the owners toward their books, particularly the legal and historical literature they read and studied. The main conclusion of the "Swedish research" is therefore a tentative hypothesis that the original Beck library had to be much larger than previously thought.
