Abstract

Introdución. En España e Galicia, o ciclo migratorio do século pasado, tal e como era coñecido -baseado nunha importante marcha da poboación- rematou a medidos da década dos setenta. Dende entón, tanto España como Galicia deixaron de ser uns territorios cunha forte emigración, para pasar a converterse, de paseniño, en destinos da poboación estranxeira. Así mesmo, a nosa Comunidade Autónoma presenta unha especial casuística migratoria debido ás persoas emigrantes retornadas, que volven a Galicia, un tipo de inmigración moi distinta á tradicional. En consecuencia e debido aos movementos migratorios, tanto España como Galicia convertéronse nos últimos anos en terra de acollida dunhas persoas con características individuais, familiares e profesionais moi distintas ás da poboación nativa. Como é evidente, esta realidade transmítese tamén ao mercado de traballo, que é un dos escenarios onde se observan máis cambios e, polo tanto, precisan unha maior atención por parte das políticas públicas. Ao anterior hai que engadir que as cohortes actuais de persoas inmigrantes teñen características moi diferentes ás dos primeiros desprazados. Adoitan contar cun maior nivel de formación e educación, posúen certa experiencia laboral e, no canto de pensar en estar un breve espazo de tempo no seu destino, moitas persoas veñen para quedar.
