Abstract

Introducción. En esta unidad se pretende que el alumno adquiera un conocimiento del acogimiento familiar, como medida de protección al menor de edad en situación de riesgo O conflicto social o Familiar. Previo al análisis de la citada figura, se realiza una breve exposición sobre las distintas medidas protectoras reguladas en la normativa en vigor. La acogida familiar supone la separación del menor de su familia cuando se encuentre privado de una adecuada atención familiar, para ser confiado al cuidado de personas idóneas seleccionadas por la Administración. En el capítulo se exponen los distintos aspectos relacionados con la figura: derechos y deberes de los acogedores, modalidades de la institución, proceso de constitución y cesación de la misma, procedimiento de selección de los acogedores... Por último, se determina cual es la implantación de la citada institución en la actualidad y, de forma aproximada, se intenta delimitar los retos y objetivos a alcanzar a través de esta medida de protección.
