Fitorremediación en agua dulce contaminada

Abstract

El control de contaminantes antropogénicos es un reto prioritario en la conservación del medio ambiente, sobre todo si se piensa en salvaguardar el recurso hidrológico para las generaciones venideras. Sin embargo, es un recurso extremadamente mal gestionado por las innumerables fuentes de contaminación, las cuales alteran las propiedades del mismo, afectando a largo plazo los ecosistemas que dependen de él. El objetivo principal de este trabajo es conocer como actúan las microalgas sobre determinados contaminantes presentes en el agua, aplicando procesos de biorremediación con ellas, que intervienen en el proceso como precursoras. Para conocer su actuación, en primer lugar, se hace necesario caracterizar las muestras de agua a través de sus propiedades físico-químicas para que aporten información relativa a la calidad de la misma, investigando, al mismo tiempo, si cada uno de los parámetros indicadores medidos, está dentro de los límites legales establecidos. En segundo lugar, analizar si, dichas muestras, están libres de contaminantes y, en caso de no estarlo, aplicar un proceso de bioremediación para eliminar al contaminante. A modo de ejemplo, se describe la puesta a punto de un método de fitorremediación con microalgas del ion fluoruro.
