Paisaje doméstico y complejidad social en la prehistoria reciente del noroeste ibérico

Abstract

La presente tesis doctoral tiene como objetivo el estudio de la organización social de las primeras sociedades agrarias del Noroeste Ibérico a partir del análisis paisajístico de los asentamientos de la época (desde comienzo del quinto milenio AC a principios de primer milenio AC), tratando de averiguar cuáles eran los lugares elegidos para su emplazamiento y por qué. Ese análisis paisajístico se realizó sobre los asentamientos de la Prehistoria Reciente de tres zonas de estudio: la península de O Morrazo (Pontevedra), la comarca de Santiago (A Coruña) y la región transfronteriza del valle del río Támega (Ourense-Portugal). Como principal conclusión de la tesis doctoral se puede destacar que en ese largo periodo de la Historia se pueden detectar tres importantes transformaciones en la organización social: De sociedades muy simples preocupadas por cuestiones productivas se transita, a mediados del tercer milenio, a sociedades más complejas en las que aumenta la conflictividad y por lo tanto el emplazamiento está más relacionado con cuestiones defensivas o estratégicas. Finalmente, el cambio más brusco en las formas de organización social parece producirse a mediados del segundo milenio, momento de surgimiento de la desigualdad social y en el que se documentarían por primera vez sociedades complejas en el Noroeste Peninsular.
