Abstract

The creation of the subdelegations of Spanish Intendencias is a product of the Ordenanza de intendentes from 1718, with which Felipe V pretended to favour the administrative uniformity at local level. In this work, we analyze the enforcement of this normative in Galicia during his reign paying attention to two questions: the appointments and their duties, besides the tensions generated with the administrative centre of the districts and provinces. Likewise, another administrative officers that served the intendentes are studied. The diversity of situations is evident, as well as the adaptation and progressive definition of the model
