El efecto de la migración interna sobre la estructura y las disparidades etarias en las grandes ciudades de América Latina

Abstract

El tema de esta investigación es la migración de las grandes ciudades de América Latina, analizada desde una perspectiva etaria. Más concretamente, su objetivo es examinar el efecto de la migración sobre tres aspectos de la dinámica y estructura etaria de la población, a saber: i) el crecimiento demográfico de los grupos etarios en las grandes ciudades; ii) la composición por edad de la población de las grandes ciudades y de sus zonas componentes; y, iii) la segregación residencial de los diferentes grupos de edades. Todos ellos son asuntos relevantes en términos académicos y de política. Y han sido escasamente estudiados hasta ahora.
